On a hot and sultry July afternoon, we began to drive toward the ocean on Chincoteague. I spotted the ponies in the distance but agreed, WATER first! And then, I saw this mommy standing with a bird perched on her back. Asked Timmy to back up, got out of the car and the bird flew off, just as I was getting ready to click. But a bigger surprise appeared, when her foal stepped out of the background. In the ensuing three minutes before I couldn't tolerate the mosquitoes any longer, I shot these images and caused quite the back-up on the road, as others stopped to see what the lady with the big lens was shooting. Unfortunately all on program mode, because I was SO distracted by the biting that I couldn't think (I think close to 30 bites over all....And I have a horrible reaction to them....) ENJOY!!! (Except for Timmy and myself, I do not know any of the people in the beach photos....)
